KYNAR 500® OR HYLAR 5000® COATING
The
fluoropolymer finish with the brand name of KYNAR 500®
or HYLAR 5000® is one of the finest finishes available
for aluminum or galvanized steel, noted for its long
life, color retention and resistance to fading and chalking.
The
molecular bonding of the carbon and fluorine is one
of the strongest known, and the key to unsurpassed thermal,
chemical and ultraviolet resistance properties. This
bond is combined with carbon/hydrogen groups to form
a unique polarity which gives the finish outstanding
resistance to dirt retention and environmental aging.
This fluoropolymer based finish is factory applied and
over baked by the coil coater. The metal can be bent,
shaped, crimped and formed after being coated, without
any blistering or cracking.
KYNAR
500® or HYLAR 5000® finishes are virtually maintenance
free and non-staining. Should cleaning be required,
either conventional detergents or solvent-type cleaners,
as recommended by the supplier, can be used. A fluoropolymer
coated panel will look as good years from now as it
does when installed.
